ILS operates an academic year from September - May for general language and general business language classes at the school and offers shorter, more intensive courses in the summer.

General language students are encouraged to study for an academic year and finish one level in that time.

To complete one level involves 120 hours of classroom study (usually 2 x 60 hour courses).

At the end of each level, all students take an ILS level test and English language students usually have the option taking an Internationally recognised qualification too.

ILS is an examination centre for the London Chamber of Commerce and regularly offers the opportunity to sit for the English for Business suite of examinations to students.

Our courses are linked to our system of levels which is linked to the Council of Europe 'Common European Framework of Languages' and cross referenced to the TOEFL, the IELTS, the University of Cambridge and the London Chamber of Commerce Examinations in the case of English courses.
